This card features the iconic Sabrina's Gengar, a piece of Pokémon TCG history famous for its "banned" status outside of Japan. Originally released in the Japanese expansion "Gym 2: Challenge from the Darkness," the artwork by Ken Sugimori depicts Gengar standing in a graveyard, which led to a significant controversy during its localized release.

Due to the depiction of crosses in the background, the original Japanese illustration was deemed culturally sensitive and "banned" for the Western market. For the English release in the "Gym Challenge" set, the artwork was heavily edited to remove the gravestones and the crosses.
